Solutia's Product Stewardship Team ensures that our products are safe for customers and the environment when used as intended. The team also ensures that the health and safety information for all products is clearly communicated.
With tens of thousands of chemicals used in commerce, the Product Stewardship Team guides each and every one of the company's new products through a stringent evaluation process. The evaluation process, known as Solutia's Environmental Safety and Health Assessment process, provides for safe and responsible chemical usage of Solutia's products.
We are committed to meeting our legal obligations under the European REACh regulation 1907/2006 as manufacturer and/or importer. Competent business teams have been created and are preparing for compliance. We firmly believe that REACh is in line with our approach to Product Stewardship.
Customers based outside the EU should be aware that only EU-based entities (manufacturers and/or importers) can (pre-) register. The fact that a European Solutia entity will have (pre-) registered a substance is not sufficient to cover other importers, even if they import this substance purchased from non-EU-based Solutia entities. Solutia is working to meet all registration requirements for its products. We are counting on our customers and downstream users to cooperate with us and to provide us with the necessary information about the use and handling of our products as required by REACh.
