At Solutia, process safety is a core value and essential to our ESHS program. It incorporates the following ESHS Commitments:
- We will ensure that our operations and distribution systems are safe and secure for our employees, site contractors and guests, communities and the environment.
- We will encourage active participation in and positive contributions to safety, health, environmental stewardship and security by our employees.
- We will search worldwide for new technologies that bring environmental, safety, health and security value to all of our stakeholders.
We utilize internal and external professionals to conduct process hazard analyses of our operations. Additional hazard analysis techniques such as Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) are utilized to ensure adequate safe guards are integral to our processes. These safeguards include instrumented protective systems, procedures, training and other loss prevention tools.
An ongoing mechanical integrity program ensures continued suitability of service and reliability of process equipment.
Solutia utilizes process industry Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) to analyze, design and maintain operations.
